The Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) is the only national force devoted to solving the mystery of lupus while giving caring support to those who suffer from its brutal impact. Through a comprehensive program of research, education and advocacy, we lead the fight to improve the quality of life for all people affected by lupus.
The Georgia Chapter of LFA
The Georgia Chapter is proud to be led by a strong Board of Directors who provide governance, strategic advice and development assistance. The Medical Advisory Board is an organization of physicians and health care workers devoted to the treatment of lupus and related diseases.
Diamond Butterflies Chapter
The Diamond Butterflies Chapter was established in 2011 by Detra Holloway after Detra saw a need for a local Lupus Awareness Walk. Detra was diagnosed with Lupus on November 5, 2009. She attended her first Walk to End Lupus Now in Atlanta, GA with five friends in 2010. In 2011 she hosted the first Walk to End Lupus Now in Columbus, GA with 20 people. The walk has grown steadily over the past four years. In July 2013, Detra started facilitating a monthly support groups for those living with Lupus.
